Loose chunks of rock salt sit inside a tree-shaped wooden holder rather than being carved into one solid block. As a natural material, the exact shade and grain will vary a little piece to piece.
Lit from within, the gaps between the chunks let light spill out unevenly, giving a mellow, low amber light with more flicker and texture than a solid lamp. It comes from the Khewra Salt Mine in Punjab, Pakistan.
